hamburber

Nolan likes to cook sandwiches in his house. His specialties include hamburgers, hot dogs, and peanut butter sandwiches made with jam. The cutest part is the way he says hamburger...hamburber.
He has some other cute misarticulations. He calls himself Nolan Berserferger. He says martawallow for marshmallow, and picanic for picnic.

king daddy

Daddy got his first recliner! Now he thinks he is king of the house.

thumb?

I have been trying to get Bryce to take a pacifier or his thumb. He is not that into it, and often gags himself.

first trip to music

On Bryce's 2 week birthday we went to music class. He slept through the whole thing which is great for now. He also wore the outfit Nolan wore on his trip home from the hospital.
One picture is Nolan for comparison!

bugs

Nolan loves to explore and find bugs while we are outside. Once we locate a bug we have to pick it up so it can crawl all over our hands. He talks to the bugs and tells me "mommy, you have to be real gentle"

dreaming

When Bryce is asleep and dreaming he has the sweetest smile. I can't wait to see it when he is awake.
He also grunts a lot when he is asleep and sometimes opens his eyes. It took me a while to realize that he was actually asleep when his eyes were open!

sharing

Nolan is learning to share with Bryce right away. He wanted to keep Bryce entertained so he brought him a lot of new toys to try out.
It is so sweet that Nolan thinks about helping his brother and sharing his toys with him already.

two cute boys

How did I get so blessed?

hands and feet

Bryce has little tiny hands and feet. His feet don't even fill out the newborn socks yet. When I pull the socks up around his little legs, the elastic is actually loose and he looks like little chicken legs.

Can I hold him?

Nolan wants to hold his baby a lot! He asks several times a day, "Can I hold baby Bryce?"

another genius

So far, Bryce has some similarities to Nolan. One of them is his attention to books and his surrounding environment. We started reading right away and he looks right at the pictures, scanning the pages and attending to everything1

trying new things

We tried the bassinet the first night home, and it did not go over well. We got very little sleep.
Look at how cute and little Bryce looks in the bassinet. Now when I change Nolan's diaper he looks like a giant to me!
The next day we went out to buy a snuggle nest for Bryce to sleep in, and now we are all sleeping much better.
We also tried to bouncer right away because Nolan always loved it. Bryce does not feel the same way. I didn't think it was possible for a baby to have such strong likes and dislikes at a young age. I am pretty sure he is a genius like his brother.

meeting cousins

Bryce got to meet Michael and Robby in the hospital right away, and met Katie when he first came home. The boys have a real interest in Bryce. Robby is a regular baby hog, and Michael is fascinated by his body parts.

one day old and going home

Bryce and I came home from the hospital after one night. My mom stayed in the hospital with us because Matt went home to stay with Nolan. I learned a lot about Bryce right away. He does not like to be put down! He wants to be held and snuggled all day and night. He begins to complain within ten minutes of finding himself anywhere other than someone's arms.

meeting for the first time

When Nolan came to visit at eh hospital, he ran through the halls the whole way. He was so excited to meet his new brother, and of course to see Mommy.
He climbed right up on the bed to get a closer look, but he did not want to kiss Bryce. It also didn't take him long to learn to say, "Mommy, give the baby to Daddy"

my little monkey

These pictures were taken before Bryce was born, but I will post now.
Nolan is truly a little monkey. He is strong and can climb and hang from almost anything. He likes to swing between two pieces of furniture, climb up onto the sinks, and climb onto any piece of furniture he can find. Here he is climbing up onto our new shelves for the basement.
He also has a new favorite line "I am a big strong muscle"
