The inch worm

Nolan loves bicycles. He talks about them all the time and loves to watch the kids on the street ride around. We have plenty of little riding toys, but all seem to short for him to propel himself. He is still not able to pedal (we tried it at the toy store) but wants to ride a bike. So we got this inch worm. It is taller so he can scoot himself around. Of course I am still spending most of the time pushing him around on the worm. He loves to get pushed around on all of his cars and keeps his feet propped up and out of the way. So it is an easy ride for him, but not so easy for me.

Fall is here

The cooler weather is here! Nolan is wearing his warmer pajamas which makes our morning adventures a little more bearable. Even though it is sometimes only 50 degrees, he still needs to get outside. He comments on the cold weather but it doesn't seem to bother him at all. Every morning he grabs me by the hand and says "mon" (come on) in a little high pitched voice. He drags me to the door and out we go!

Jumping

Nolan learned how to jump. He has been practicing for a while, and is now able to get both feet off the floor. You can hear his favorite dance song in the background "What is Love"?

A dog?

Nolan loves to imitate his two dogs. He barks at the fence with them at the neighbor's dogs, and has now taken to trying to drink water with them. I can't keep him out of puddles and dog bowls.

Just like mommy

Nolan loves to imitate me with everything I do. He imitates the things I say, he imitates me using facial toner, he imitates my dance moves, and may others. The funniest is definitely makeup. He really wants to get his hands on the whole bag, but I will only give him the powder brush and the chapstick. You can see how messy this gets.

learning to share

Nolan and Michael are working hard on sharing. It isn't always their favorite thing, but they are getting better at it. They are very creative in figuring out ways that they can both play!

back to Chincoteague

This time we went to Chincoteague with the whole family. We had such a great time kayaking, boogie boarding, riding on a moped, and hanging out at the beach.
Also, here is a picture for Christina. I call it "Mommy in small spaces"

not slave labor

WE are not forcing Nolan to clean like this, he actually requests it. The night before the picture was taken he actually had a 10 minute tantrum because I told him he could not have the swiffer. Looking back, I wish I hadn't said "no" in the first place. Once the whining and screaming and stomping started there was no turning back.

Caps for Sale

Caps for Sale is on of Nolan's favorite books right now. He loves to act out the monkeys part!

Mr. Yes

Nolan will say "yes" to anything. It is possibly the word he says the second most frequently. The most frequent is "Mama." Matt loves to ask Nolan questions like "do you love me" "do you think Mommy should change your diaper?" I think it is so refreshing that he says "yes" all the time and am dreading the day he learns "no." He still refuses to do things but doesn't say "no" yet. Today, Nolan shook his head "no" two times!

Ru, Wawa, and lawnmowers

Nolan is deeply in love with his two puppies, who he affectionately calls "Ru" and "Wawa." He loves to kiss, hug and feed the dogs any food he can find for them. They also love him and will gladly share their dog bed with him.
Another favorite of Nolan's is lawnmowers. He is always looking in the yard for Daddy to be mowing the lawn. He pushes his own lawnmower endlessly and loves to have Mommy chase him with the lawnmower. He is truly in heaven when we go to Lowes and pass the long row of various lawnmowers and weed whackers.

cousins

Nolan loves his cousins. We made up name signs for Michael, Katie and Robby, and now Nolan talks about them all the time.
He is always spotting young boys that look like Robby while we are out and insists that they are in fact Robby. I tell him that these children just look like Robby, but he is convinced that Robby is everywhere we go. He also identifies all of his cousins, Mommy, Daddy, Grandmom, Aunt Mee, Aunt Krissy and himself in pictures. Nolan calls himself "N"

tea tea tea

Nolan loves to drink tea. Hot or cold herbal tea is tops on his list of beverages. He sees a glass and says "tea, tea" and smiles excitedly. Here he is having a cup of acai berry tea in the morning with Mommy.
