Adventure Aquarium

Nolan loves to watch the fish in our fish tank. Every morning he points to them and talks to them while we feed them. He asks to be picked up to get a better look and will spend 5 minutes just observing the fish swim all around.
Because he loves the little fish tank we figured the aquarium would be just his speed, and it was. He loved it. He is such a smart little boy. He looks at everything and likes to point and talk to it. We were surprised by how many things he noticed while we were looking. He especially loved watching the fish swim in schools.
Later that night we went out to dinner at the Cock n Bull. We haven't been there since our 1st wedding anniversary and it was so special to share the time with out little man.
Check out the pics of him in his car seat on the way to the aquarium. See how quickly he can change his emotions, and just by seeing the camera!

snow day

We finally had enough snow to try out sledding! Nolan loves to watch snow falling outside when he is warm and snuggly inside. He doesn't like to feel snow on his hands, and he really doesn't like going out in the snow. I am not sure if this is because he can't move in his snow suit or because he doesn't like the cold.
We went outside for 5 minutes to take a quick sled ride around the yard, and Nolan cried!

dog food

Nolan finally got into the dog food for long enough to get a piece in his mouth. And he didn't spit it out, I had to pull it out!

going around

Here is Nolan the night we got home from PSU. He loves to push things around the house, especially this truck and his walker. He rarely sits still and now that he is walking, he walks between things all day. He looks so proud of himself when he makes it!

one night away

Matt and I went on a very romantic night away to the Nittany Lion Inn. I missed Nolan very much and was dying to get to him on the ride home. When we got home I got a wonderful welcome with a big smile and a lot of cuddles! There is no better greeting.

presents

Nolan is getting better at opening presents. Today he decided to open his Valentine's day present with his mouth!

walking

Last night, Nolan took five steps. They are little shuffles, but he is moving forward!

Happy Valentine's Day

million dollar smile

Mom Mom always says that Nolan has a million dollar smile. And she is right. Everywhere we go people comment on his smile, and he is always flashing it!

toys?

Nolan has always loved to play with non-toy items. Here he is playing with the blinds from the sliding glass door. Who knew they could be so much fun?
Also today, he played his first game of ball with Daddy, which had him belly laughing. Last Saturday he started playing with a ball at the bridal shower we attended. He pushes the ball with his hands and then chases it. Almost like soccer with hands.

dancing

Nolan has discovered a new joy...dancing. He kneels in front of the refrigerator and bounces up and down and flaps his arms. He prefers dancing to the alphabet song. Today, Nolan took his dancing skills to all new levels and danced along with Ellen while we watched TV.

one step

Nolan took his first step today. I knew this day would be here soon because he is such a mover, but I am still in shock that he actually took a step. Mom Mom was there to see it too! He was facing Mom Mom and showing her a candy bowl by pointing to it and talking. Then he took one side step to get closer, and he didn't even fall. I am not sure Nolan realized that he moved independently, but Mom Mom and I sure were excited. If walking follows the same pattern as his other movement, he will be running around the house by Saturday!

Super Bowl

Nolan watched his first Super Bowl and had dinner in front of the TV for the first time. He loved watching the game and pointing to the players. He does a modified point with an open hand. He was squealing at everything. Then it was off to explore the house.
