the three musketeers

This is not a new pic, but I didn't include it yet. I had to get it on here because it is absolutely precious. Are these three gorgeous or what?

We Are....Penn State

Nolan is supporting the Nittany Lions, his future alma mater. When he gets there, I think it will be 2025! Will JoePa still be coaching?

love, love, love

Robby LOVES Nolan. It is so sweet to watch how gentle and loving he can be with his little cousin. Yesterday, Kristen, Robby, Nolan, and I went on a road trip to the Baby Supermart. Robby sat in the back with Nolan and "babysat." Robby talked to Nolan and held his hand. He also shushed Nolan when he cried, and held his pacifier in his mouth for him (Nolan loves the pacifier, but can't always keep it in)
Robby has the sweetest heart!

growing into a little man

Nolan has grown so much in the past few weeks. In just 6 short weeks he has gone from looking like an infant to looking more like a baby, or maybe even a little man. Here he is coming home from the hospital, and then this morning. He is even wearing a little man outfit!

the making of a genius

Of course every parent thinks their child is the smartest in the world, but I have proof. See how he looks at the book and listens so attentively. Yesterday he even smiled during "The Foot Book." This is true genius!

waking up

Every day Nolan is more awake. Initially when he would be awake during the day, he would get upset and want to get back to sleep. Now he is starting to enjoy being awake in short spurts! Just look at that smile.

working out

Nolan has been working out his neck muscles during tummy time. He really does not like it, but the time is paying off. He can hold his head up pretty well now. Look at how mad he gets. He screams and kicks his feet!

baby fresh

Here is Nolan straight from the bath tub! We have the bathtub routine down now, but after the bath is a different story. Nolan usually poops in his towel and then pee pees while he is on the changing table.
Being on the changing table is one of his favorite spots. There are four stuffed animals above the table that he loves to watch!

catching some zzzzs

Nolan took a nap in the kitchen today on his bouncer seat. He is a boy who needs his rest. Some days he perfers to sleep in someone's arms, and others he wants to sleep solo. I started by carrying him around the house this morning to keep him entertained, but he was not content. So I plopped him in the bouncer seat with the pacifier, and he was in heaven. I sat on the floor next to him so we could read together, and he was upset. I had disturbed him!
So, here he is!

Going to the dogs

Matt has a dream of taking the dogs and Nolan to picture people to have a "family portrait" taken. I always squash this dream by telling him that our dogs are much too rowdy to go into any public space, especially when you throw an infant into the mix. Without Nolan, it may be manageable, but since we can't leave him at home, there will be no "family portrait" for a little while.
Here is Matt's attempt at a a beautiful picture. Can you see how ornery our dogs can be?

the first month

Today is Nolan's one month birthday! It has been a month of magic. We have gotten to be a pretty good team, and have gotten used to many of our daily tasks. The one we can't seem to master is the diaper change. About 75% of the time, we are both all wet!
A few milestones to note:
Nolan is making tears when he cries...this started on Saturday
He is tracking items across midline with his eyes...he started this on Monday

Getting BIG

Yesterday, Nolan had his second trip to Dr. Matthews for a checkup. He weighs 9 pounds 6 ounces and his head circumference grew by 1 inch!
Look at how much bigger he looks! He is wearing a 6 month outfit which is too big. This was the 6th outfit he had on that day, so I was a little behind in laundy.

Bottles!

Nolan had his first bottle on Wednesday night. He only drank about a half ounce, but he accepted the bottle in his mouth. which is great. Nolan is a very smart baby!

Meeting the Browns

On Sunday we went to Delaware to meet a part of the Brown family. Of course we had a great time seeing everyone. Nolan had a great day, and didn't cry at all!
We are so blessed to be a part of such a loving family.

strolling

We went for our first stroller ride last Friday. We walked to the pretzel factory and had a pretzel dog for lunch. This is another food I waited 9 months to have, and it was delicious.
At first we wern't sure how to strap Nolan into his stroller. When we got him in the seat we realized he seemed way too small to sit in the stroller alone. We ended up using the car seat carrier in the stroller.
Doesn't he look like a doll?
