Wow, Nolan is moving forward! And he is going at a pretty fast pace. He started crawling on Monday (10/29), but I could only video with the other camera then. Now I got the action on the camera I use to blog with. Matt doesn't think this is technically crawling, but I definitely do!

shrimp
Nolan started his shrimp swimming class today! I have been so excited to start because he loved swimming in the Porco's pool this summer. He was one of the youngest kids there, and of course the most advanced.
He kicked his legs, floated on his back, splashed his hands a little and also put his mouth under water! There is a strong possibility that he is part fish.
He was also the most animated shrimp there. He smiled at everyone and reached out to touch everyone's faces and give them kisses. He lights up every room he is in.
I didn't get a good shot of his first time at the YMCA because he had just woken up from a nap. He was probably wondering why I was stripping him down in a locker room and taking his picture. Soon I will get someone to take a picture of him in action in the pool.

fun with Michael
Today we had Michael visit for the whole day, and we had a great time. Both boys loved lying on the floor and playing with toys. Luckily for me, they even took a nap at the same time (and it was 2 hours long!)
Michael discovered the babbling bee, a toy that used to be Katie's. Look at how he concentrated while he played
with it. All kids seem to love this toy. Michael is taking it home to play with for a while because we can't find it online. Isn't it nice to have cousins to share with?
Also check out the picture of Nolan throwing a toy. This is his "new" thing. He winds up by bringing things up to his ear before letting go.

smart smart smart
Nolan loves his Mother Goose See and Say. Grandmom found it at a yard sale last summer when Nolan was just the size of a piece of rice. We play with it almost every day and he stops the spinner with his hands so the voice goes very slow.
Today he figured out that the arm makes the spinner start. When the spinner would stop, he would reach right up to try to pull the arm again. Wow, he is smart!

Picking a pumpkin
We went to pick our pumpkins today at Solly Bros. farm. It was the perfect day to walk through the patch and see all the pumpkins. Nolan pulled off pieces of pumpkin leaves and tried to eat them, and he also observed all the nature around him. Just like yesterday, it was hard to get his attention for a picture! We got two pumpkins, now we just need to figure out how we will carve them.

Happy 6 Month Birthday
What??
Yes, you read that correctly, 6 months! These 6 months have been the greatest of our life! Matt and I thank God every day for the bouncing baby boy he gave us. Every minute is an adventure, and Nolan is likely the world's greatest baby.
This month Nolan has his candles in a weight watchers cake. He loved watching the candles, and really enjoyed smashing the cake after I blew out the candles. He is practicing for future birthdays.
Nolan also typed on this post. Here is what he has to say.....

Rice Cereal
Well, we waited 5 months, 4 weeks and 1 day, and we finally tried cereal!
Nolan loved it! He reached for the spoon, he wanted to hold the bowl, he smiled, he even breathed heavily with excitement. As with most things Nolan does, he seems to be a natural. Somehow he just knows what he is doing!
It was a little messier than I was hoping, so immediately after the pictures were taken he was in the bath.
Here are the before and after poses.
