love at first sight
Love at first sight....or at least sharing the same emotions. Nolan was not too happy with his seat on the chiar, so when he started crying, Michael did too.
Look at how big Nolan looks compared to Michael. It is very hard to believe that not too long ago he was about the same size.

Happy Birthday Michael
Here he is, the newest member of our family. Michael was born on July 26 at 3:38 am. He was 7 lbs, 10 oz, and 21 inches long. He is an adorable little peanut. And he has a beautiful head of hair, it already has highlights!
Kristen and Michael are doing well, she was a real trooper through the whole thing.

sitting pretty
Here is the handsome boy trying out his highchair for the first time!
When Matt and I were registering I did not want to get a highchair because we live in a miniature house. Matt insisted we get a highchair because he said, "it is my dream to feed my child in a highchair." Judging from the picture, we will have to wait a little longer to really be able to use the chair.
house calls
Dr. Gerstberger will now be making house calls!
Nolan played with the doctor kit he got from Grandmom for Christmas today. Katie showed him all the parts and he smiled from ear to ear as she put them on him and helped him hold the thermometer and vaccination. As Grandmom put it, "she is instant entertainment."

reaching out
Nolan has begun reaching out and grabbing things and holding them in his hands. Yesterday while we were shopping, he was playing with a stuffed cow and pig in his car seat. He reached out and picked up the pig by the ring on it. He held on to it and shook it around. Then he brought it to his mouth to see how it tasted. He is loving using his hands to explore new things.

take me out to the ballgame
Nolan went to his first Phillie's game last night with Uncle Adam and Tobi. He was so good during the game. He loved looking around at all the people and listening to the noises. He also slept for a good part of the game. Nolan wore his Phillie's shirt to the game. He has two Phillie's shirts and he had pooped and spit up through both of them before the game even started.
Grandmom's M&M
Nolan got this outfit from Grandmom when we went to Las Vegas last August. I had found out I was pregnant right before the vacation. As Grandmom and I were reading about Nolan's development, we read that the week we were in Las Vegas, Nolan was going to be the size of an M&M! What a miracle that this little M&M has turned into this handsome little baby. In this picture, he was just about to cry, but I had the get the shot of him in the outfit.

it's been a while
I am having a hard time keeping up with my posts now that I am working part time. I used to be able to easily juggle working two jobs and keeping the house in shape. Now even working for an hour is difficult. Not just because I have to pack a huge bag for Nolan, pack breast milk and a breast pump, and time feedings around working; but also because I don't want to work anymore. I love my job, just not as much as I love Nolan. Every minute of work I am thinking about him. I am not worried because he is with my family every time I leave him. I am thinking about what he is doing, what is he smilimg about, what is he talking about, what is he looking at? The great news is that the feeling is mutual. Yesterday after work I went to pick up Noln from Aimee's house. He had had a wonderful day with Aunt Krissy and Aunt Aimee and Katie and Robby. I walked right over to him (of course I had been dying to get there all day) and I said "hello baby." He looked at me and his chin started to quiver and he almost broke into a full blown cry. His face seemed to say "thank God you are here."

I'm rolling!
Nolan rolled over today from his belly to his back. Although I was cheering, he was crying. Yesterday he also pushed his bottom up off of the floor while lying on his back. Almost like he was doing glute exercises.
After the big roll over, I put him in one of his favorite spots...the bouncer seat. He talks to the animals on his bouncer seat the whole time he is sitting there.
He also loves the bear in this photo that sings "take me out to the ball game"

Happy 3 Month Birthday
Today is Nolan's 3 month birthday! He also did some very exciting things today. He said "aagaa".... this is his first consonant. He slept in his crib for the first half of the night last night. He is getting very big for his bassinet, so we need to practice sleeping in the crib at night. This makes me very nervous, but the first night went well.
This month I put his candle in grapes because we did not have a cupcake!
he did it!
Nolan has been working on getting his thumb in his mouth for some time now. He really is determined, and will put the whole fist in his mouth and try to suckle. After some time he gets frustrated and lets out a "bird squawk." Grandmom and I have been trying to help him separate his fingers, but it has not helped. Yesterday he had his thumb in his mouth briefly, and one finger briefly.
Just look at the sight that I woke up to this morning...all his determination paid off. I am so glad I caught this!
