bebe pod
Here is Nolan sitting in the bebe pod, another version of the baby bumbo. He was doing a great job holding up his head and blowing bubbles. Then I put this baseball rattle in his hand, and he held it for 5 minutes! See how much concentration this all takes? His shirt is wet from drooling because he was concentrating so much. You can also see him looking at his feet. He loves to observe his feet while he is sitting in the car seat. He is fascinated by them.

baptism
Nolan is 11 weeks and getting baptized. Aunt Krissy and Aunt Aimee are his godmothers. He was excellent during church, and didn't cry at all during the "water part." Pastor Dwyer carried Nolan all around the church for everyone to see, and he looked at all of the members of the congregation. He looked like an angel! You can also see him at church doing one of his new tricks....standing. He loves to stand and see everything around him. He is constantly observing his environment.

a size 2 and other notable events
Nolan has officially transitioned into a size 2 diaper. How could that be? The size one was tight, but he is swimming in a size 2. Today he spent a little time exercising on the couch and our bed after we read a few books. Here is the big news...Nolan almost rolled over today. He has been able to roll from his side to his back and from his back to his side. Today he went one step further and went from his back to his side and almost to his belly. The only thing holding him back is his arm. He didn't know how to pull his arm out from under him. When he got mostly on his belly, I moved his arm out from under him. When he realized he was on his belly, he was MAD!
He has also started sleeping from about 10-5. Initially he was going to bed at 9, and waking at 12:30 and 4. Then he started waking only at 2, and now he makes it until 5. I seem to wake up before he does!
In these pictures, he is hanging out on the couch kicking and punching. He has been chewing on his hands a lot lately and drooling. Could this be the start of teething?

Happy 2 Month Birthday
Wow, time flies. Nolan is already 2 months old. He had a good day visiting with Aunt Christina and Aunt Kristen. We went over for lunch and they had decorated brownies to say Happy 2 Month Birthday! This month he even had candles on his treat.
Most people think Nolan looks like Matt, but I am still hoping he has some of me in him. I think he really looks like me in the smiling pics. He has his eyes shut....a typical Schanberger move.
Nolan is wearing the shirt that Matt bought him the day we found out we were pregnant!

what an angel
Here is the cutest baby ever!
This is a day of firsts. Nolan is taking a nap in his crib, and he fell asleep unassisted. I put him in his crib awake and turned on his mobile. He loves to watch the bees and listen to Humpty Dumpty. He kicked his legs and cooed to the bees. We have been practicing spending time in the crib during the day while I stand next to him so he would not be scared when it is time to move into the crib for night time. So today, I put him in the crib, and he listened to the music. I was folding laundry, and kept winding the mobile so he could listen to the music again. After 5 windups, he was out!
Where did this perfect angel baby come from?
Aside from this, I am not sure about putting him in the crib at night. This morning my mom told me that babies usually go into their crib around 3 months. I am so sad to think that he won't be sleeping in his little bassinet next to me. Matt feels sad too, and said we could use the pack and play if needed.

hands?
Nolan has really started to use his arms and legs, and is starting to get control of his hands. He likes to lie on his back and move his arms and legs all together. He is also bringing his hand to his mouth. He doesn't have great control yet and often hits himself in the face. When he hits himself, it scares him and he cries! His face is covered in scratches from the new discovery of his hands.
pay off
Just look at how much the tummy time has paid off! Nolan can really get his head up now, and I might even venture to say he is enjoying himself. He is also very good at sticking his tongue in and out, and is talking a lot! Two weeks ago he talked to Grandmom on the phone. I am taking all the credit for the talking!!!

a nutty bunch
We visited Delaware again today for a graduation party. Nolan and I spent the day with Aunt Aimee, Katie, Robby, Aunt Krissy, Grandmom, and Mom Mom. When you get this many of the family together, things get crazy. We all talk a lot, laugh a lot, and can be a lot for outsiders to handle. Nolan has blended right into this craziness. He loves to be with his cousins, and especially loves spending time with Grandmom and Mom Mom. He showed everyone his big smiles and even did a little bit of talking!
hanging out
I tried to take a picture of Nolan with his puppies again, but it was unsuccessful. Rudy could not hold still, and Winston was afraid to get near Nolan. Needless to say, Nolan is the most well behaved of the bunch. He is an easy going baby to be able to tolerate the craziness here at the Horsham zoo.
