Standing everywhere

Nolan is so good at pulling up and standing now that he does it everywhere. The object he pulls up on doesn't even have to be far off the ground. He will use things that are only 3 inches tall to stand up!

Family Picture

We went out today to get our picture taken at the Curtis Arboretum with Isabel March. We had an awesome time. It was the first family portrait we have had taken, and we had a beautiful day.
Matt and I haven't had our picture taken since our wedding, so it was a real treat. These are just the first two pictures she sent us, so I can not wait to see the rest. Aren't they amazing?!

Nolan's First Thanksgiving

We went to Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving to visit with the Gerstbergers. Nolan had his first Thanksgiving dinner. He ate sweet potatoes, squash and a zwieback toast. We didn't get to leave until Thursday morning so Nolan spent the beginning of Thanksgiving playing with his letters on the fridge. He loves to play with the letters and carries them around the house!

can I get out there

Now that Nolan is mobile, he loves to look around at everything he can in the house. He touches the plants leaves, tries to eat the dried leaves that blow into the house, wants to splash in the dog water, pulls magnets off of the refrigerator, and pulls over wooden stools.
Here he is looking at his buddy, Rudy. He loves to stare out of the window and check things out.

A few action shots of swimming. Grandmom came to watch Nolan swim, and she was impressed by his athletic and social ability. Here are just a few shots of the fun!

mini vacation

Well kind of a mini vacation, if you count pumping as a relaxing time. Matt put Nolan to bed for the first time tonight. We are practicing for the night I go to my high school reunion. And it worked, Nolan didn't even cry. I don't know if I should cry about this or not.

Happy 7 Month Birthday + 1 day

We didn't get to put candles in a cupcake for Nolan yesterday because we got the flu shot instead. So here he is....7 months and one day!

Turning around

Now that Nolan is a mover, he loves to go in all directions. Sometimes he is not sure which way to go so he turns around many times!

pulling up

Nolan has started pulling himself up. Today, he pulled himself up to his feet two times. He used our laundry basket full of socks. First he dug through all the socks and tasted a few, and then he stood on his feet. He didn't fall over either!
I wasn't able to catch him on his feet because I didn't have my camera out, but here he is right after the big event.

Getting out a camera is a sure way to get Nolan to stay still. At all other times he needs to be moving.
In this picture, you can see he still does the whole body smile. The difference is that now when he leans back, he doesn't fall over. He is strong enough to keep himself up!

Carrot Man

Nolan started carrots, and he loves them! He is not especially fond of eating, but carrots are his favorite. Nolan prefers to be an independent eater so things are very messy. This is very hard for me because I hate food on faces, but he looked very funny!
