Boston Children's Museum

While we were in Boston, Nolan and I visited the children's museum, and it was fabulous. I was excited to go, but figured Nolan wouldn't get that much out of it. I was totally wrong. He loved it, and was able to interact with most of the exhibits all by himself.
While we were at the museum, he especially loved the ball room and the 0-3 room. He also displayed his independent style by walking by himself, wriggling away from my hand, and refusing to wear a smock in the water room.
It was really neat to watch him observe the other children and then imitate their movements. Even though I know he is so smart, I am always amazed by his intelligence.

first time in a taxi

As suburban dwellers, we never take cabs. So when the bell captain at the hotel suggested we take a cab, I was really confused. All I could think was, how do you put your car seat in there? The bell captain assured me that plenty of people just jump right in without a car seat. So I followed his advice and in we went.
Nolan seemed to enjoy the ride and was fascinated by all the buses in the city. This is a new sign he learned while we were on vacation.

the hotel

While we were in Boston we stayed at the Radisson. I was nervous about the thought of staying in a small room for 4 days with Nolan because of sleeping arrangements and having enough space to entertain a little ball of energy. But it worked out just fine. We ordered room service for breakfasts and had picnics on the floor. It was really sweet to sit together and share a plate of fruit and eggs. Nolan also loved it because he wasn't confined in a high chair.
We also spent a lot of time at the hotel rolling and jumping on the beds, running in the halls, checking the ice machines and watching the cars and buses drive by.
And, who doesn't love to run around stark naked in their hotel room?

facing forward

Nolan is finally facing forward in the car. We decided that the drive to Rhode Island would be more pleasant for everyone if Nolan could look out the window. It was so nice for all of us to be able to talk and sing and laugh while driving. It was also so much easier to turn around and entertain Nolan than climb from the front to the back.
Nolan has also become very interested in the phone.

at the beach again

We went to the beach on Memorial day with Uncle Adam and Aunt Tobi. Nolan walked around and watched people kite surfing. He was very interested in the other kids and the birds. As usual he was moving very quickly!
And just look at his precious smile. I love this smile he gives. To me he is saying, "Mommy I love you, and I am really having fun." Nolan flashes this smile at me when he is running toward me and laughing like crazy!
